There's a bunch of stuff that Vampires would've been happy to get in the new edition, yet more counterplay options isn't really one of them. It's worth noting that they can no longer slake their thirst on a knocked down thrall, which forces you to stand them up before the Vamp activates and potentially messes up your action economy as well as prevents you from biting a stunned thrall.Īlso, forcing the knockdown before their action makes it easier for your opponent to control your activations since pushing a thrall away from a Vampire forces you to get the thrall back into position before the Vamp can act safely. I'm far from a grizzled veteran Vampire coach, so take my thoughts with a clove of garlic, but not as optimistic after a first reading.
